Endodontics is a branch of dentistry dealing with the treatment of dental pulp diseases and associated complications. Endodontics is a very rapidly growing field of dentistry and days of so-called poisoning tooth before root canal treatment are long gone. Thanks to advances in technology, many different treatment techniques with the use of various equipment such as microscopes, endometers, X-rays with low levels of radiation and tips appropriate  for canal instrumentation have been developed. In this way, the treatment becomes more effective, and in most cases allows to avoid teeth extractions.

Endodontic treatment involves the removal of dead or infected dental pulp, cleaning the canal or canals, disinfection and filling with suitable materials.

Root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia to avoid pain or discomfort. Immediately after the procedure and for the next few days the tooth can be more sensitive. Commercially available analgesics are sufficient to alleviate the symptoms .

Endodontics procedures may require patience and incur additional costs, but often it is the only chance to save the tooth and prevent extraction.

Root canal treatment can often be done in one visit . More complex cases require two or more visits.

In order to restore tooth function after root canal treatment, it must be properly reinforced. Due to the extensive damage of hard tissues, tooth requires a fiberglass strengthening before prosthetic crown or composite material reconstruction. Improperly rebuilt tooth crown is very susceptible to fractures, which may result in necessity of extraction.






Aesthetic Dent team led by Katarzynę Sporniak-Tutak is involved in a multicenter research program which brings together the most prestigious research centers from Switzerland, Austria, USA and Spain. Aesthetic  Dent Clinic is currently the only center in Poland, which conducts research on such a large scale in the field of short implants. The aim of the study is a long-term (5.5 years) functional assessment of short- implant in bony compromised conditions.

Thanks to changing technology of implants production to increase bone-to-implant contact, we investigate efficacy of short implants compared to standard dimensions implants. Based on the preliminary results, we expect many positive effects of the treatment. These include: reducing the need for CT scans, irradiation decrease, limitation and reduction of peri-implant advanced procedures such as bone grafting or bone reconstruction procedures. Also abridgement of treatment time and associated costs. Short implants can also be safely used in patients with systemic diseases that would hinder the process of surgery and healing.
